HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04211992 - 1.35 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Recognizing ) Shell Oil Company, Martinez ) RESOLUTION NO. 92/ 234 Manufacturing Complex, as ) Sponsor of the 1992 Emergency ) Preparedness Exposition ) WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California and this Board declare April of each year as Earthquake Preparedness Month; and WHEREAS, Contra Costa County, through the County Office of Emergency Services, undertakes special efforts during the month of April to increase county residents' awareness of earthquakes and the measures they should take to minimize potential personal injury or property damage; and WHEREAS, one part of the County's public awareness campaign is an Emergency Preparedness Exposition to be held at Heather Farm Park, Walnut Creek on April 26, 1992; and WHEREAS, Shell Oil Company, Martinez Manufacturing Complex, has graciously donated $1,000 to the County Office of Emergency Services to help defray costs related to the Earthquake Preparedness Exposition 192 . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY THIS BOARD RESOLVED that it extends its sincerest appreciation to Shell Oil Company, Martinez Manufacturing Complex, for sponsoring the Emergency Preparedness Exposition and for recognizing the importance of the County's efforts to encourage citizens to implement disaster preparedness measures . I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
