HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04211992 - 1.33 X3`3 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter Proclaiming ) May As "Drowning Prevention ) Month" in Contra Costa County) Resolution No. 92/ 251 Whereas, summer is approaching and unfortunately is the time of increased numbers of drowning incidents; and Whereas, children under the age of five are especially vulnerable to drowning, deaths and injuries associated with near drowning submersions; and Whereas, The Drowning Prevention Foundation, in cooperation with the Contra Costa Health Services will conduct a drowning prevention educational outreach campaign in the spring and summer of 1992 the purpose of which is to inform .the public that drowning can be prevented when people are aware of the problems and know how to eliminate them; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors proclaims May as "Drowning Prevention Month" launching a much needed anti-drowning education campaign which will focus attention on this preventable killer of children.
