SUBJECT: Southern Pacific Right-of-Way
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS (S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Authorize the Redevelopment Director or his Designee to execute a
License Agreement with MSM Development Corporation for temporary use
of a portion of the former Southern Pacific right-of-way.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Licensee (MSM Development) will pay the Agency $4, 000 for this
temporary use.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
The Redevelopment Agency owns the former Southern Pacific right-of-way
in the vicinity of the Pleasant Hill BART Station. MSM Development
is developing a housing project north of the Oak Road and Walden Road
intersection. The development will abut the subject right-of-way.
The temporary use is limited to surface use for the storage of
materials and equipment. The property will be secured. The temporary
use will not impair current uses of the right-of-way.
