Authorize execution of Amendment (County #40-009-3) of the
Contract with Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa, Inc. to
increase the payment limit to $82,753 .
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorizle the Director, Office on Aging or his designee
to execute on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment
#40-009-3 with Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa, Inc.
for the (term July 1, 1991 through June 30, 1992 to
increas6 the payment limit to $82,753 for provision of
additional Long-Term Care Ombudsman Services.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
None. No County dollars required. Funds are federal
.and stage dollars exclusively.
III. REASONS IFOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
On May 21, 1991 the Board of Supervisors authorized
negotiations, execution and signature of the Contract
with . Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa, Inc. for the
term of July 1, 1991 - June 30, 1992 in the amount of
$73 , 804 . However, there was a calculation error in
determining the fringe benefits for contractor's staff.
The actual payment limit should have been .$73,4370 of
ongoing funds and $1, 654 in supplemental funds for-a
total contract payment limit of $75, 091.

Subsequently, additional supplemental state and federal
funds in the amount of $4,960 became available in fall,
1991. In February, 1992, additional Federal
supplemental funds in the amount of $2,702 became
available. Consequently, in February 1992 the total
Payment Limit and Budget of Estimated Program
Expenditures (Original and Supplemental Share) are
amended to read $82 ,753 for FY 1991-92 . The Director,
Office on Aging recommends Authorization to execute
Contract' Amendment #40-009-3.
