HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06041991 - 2.6 2. 6 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on June 4, 1991 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Schroder, Torlakson and Powers NOES: Supervisor Fanden ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak ABSTAIN: None --------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------------------------- SUBJECT: Ordinance On Solid Waste Collection, Disposal and Recycling In Unincorporated Areas Sara Hoffman, Solid Waste Manager, presented the staff report on the proposed ordinance before the Board for consideration today and commented on various adjustments to the ordinance. The following persons appeared to speak: Ken Little, 500 Ygnacio #380, Walnut Creek, representing Pleasant Hill Bayshore Disposal and Orinda-Moraga Disposal, suggested changes to the ordinance. David Contreras, P.O. Box 2757, Martinez, representing Mt. View Sanitary District, requested that the Board postpone the ordinance to obtain further input. Paul Morsen, 5019 Imhoff Place, Martinez, Central Sanitary District, spoke in opposition to the proposed ordinance. Avon Wilson, 14 Richelle Court, Lafayette, representing the AB 939 Task Force, requested further consideration of this matter. Supervisor Fanden expressed her concerns with the proposed ordinance, and she requested that the Board delay this matter. Supervisor Torlakson moved to approve the introduction of the ordinance and to continue to work cooperatively. Supervisor Powers clarified the motion was to introduce the ordinance, set next week for final adoption with any changes, and refer the comments today to staff'. Supervisor Torlakson concurred. Victor Westman, County Counsel, clarified that the Board was introducing the ordinance, waiving reading, and continuing to next week for further consideration as to the adoption of the ordinance. Sara Hoffman requested the final consideration be deferred for two weeks. Supervisor Powers requested that the ordinance be considered in one week. Supervisor Fanden voted no, indicating that the ordinance, was premature.
