TITLE PLACE Of UM.AND ASSIGNED 11"S Ttse Required Descrfption of Work: CHDP DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB DESCRIPTION 30% Provider Relations and Outreach 1) Visit dentists to recruit and explain CHDP Program. 2) Provide dentists with updated information regarding the importance of preventive dental care including routine check-ups. 3) Review current literature to develop mailers to keep dentists apprised of Program changes. 4) Serve as a liaison to the Dental Society. 5) Provide technical support and consultation to dentists. 6) Serve as community dental program component consultant to the professional organization. 25% Traininct (Program Staff, Dental Provider & Medical Providers) 1) Work with members of the EPSDT Social Services, Public Health Nursing and Head Start to enhance their knowledge of dental disease and treatment and referral resources. 2) Provide inservice education to the resource network (dental and medical) regarding programmatic changes and general updates on an agreed basis. 3) Provide EPSDT Unit with specific dental training to enhance their ,ability to interact appropriately with clients. .20% Resource Development and Tracking 1) Coordinate special projects designed to improve access/treatment/prevention. 2) Provide lead responsibility for the recruitment process of new dental providers. 3) Develop health materials that can be utilized by EPSDT Unit"and other information groups that impact the target population(s) . .... CONTRA COSTA COUNTY CLASSIFICATION QUESTIONNAIRE iAME DEPARTMENT DIVISION i Dental Hygienist Health Services Public Health IFFICIAL SOB CLASSIFICATION WORKING JO9 TITLE PLACE OF WORK AND ASSIGNED HOURS i Time Required Description of Work: 15% `; Outreach Activity and Program Component Development I 1) Work with EPSDT Unit to ensure higher number of dental appointments are kept. , 2) Work in conjunction with o w' nutritionists and health educators to develop programs to address shared problems (i.e. , baby bottle mouth, sealants) . 3) Educate community organizations with high Medi-Cal population about dental disease prevention via training "trainers" to present. classes, distribute health education pamphlets, etc. 5% Special Proiects .- _ Work on projects as assigned by Deputy .Director that relate to dental disease prevention, treatment, community organization, training issues, special presentations, networking, MCAH coordination, special services (i.e. , AB 75j : I :. 5% Data Collection/Analysis ': 1) Develop appropriate .-tracking and data collection tools/materials for use by .EPSDT staff. 2) Provide training to staff regarding use of data collection tools. . 3) Work with EPSDT/CHDP Unit coordinator to design/monitor/collect/analyze dental data. 4) Provide Director/Deputy Director with janalysis/trends about program effectiveness and j recommend action for future directions.
