I.O. -3
BACKGROUND:
There are currently four vacancies on the Human Relations
Commission. The Commission has recruited for members and has
interviewed those who applied. The Commission has recommended
appointment of the four individuals noted above to fill these
vacancies. We 'are recommending these appointments to the Board
of Supervisors, with the recognition that this leave
Supervisorial District III with only one representative on the
Commission, whereas with these appointments, the geographic
distribution will be as follows:
Supervisorial District I - 4
Supervisorial District II - 3
Supervisorial District III - 1
Supervisorial District IV 5
Supervisorial District V - 5
We understand that the Commission member who is physically
disabled will be resigning from the Commission in the immediate
future. It is our Committee' s intent to attempt to recruit
another physically disabled individual, this time from District
III . We will make a further recommendation on this up-coming
vacancy in the future.
