Supervisors "Ambulatory Care Access : Problems and Solutions" SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(_S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I . RECOMMENDED ACTION Accept the "Ambulatory Care Access : Problems and Solutions" report of the Contra Costa Health Plan Advisory Board and consider the recommendations regarding short-term and long-term solutions to the current accessibility problems . Short-term solutions include ones to increase Plan members , access within the existing County system and to expand current clinic capacity. The longer term solution is to renovate the current maternity ward for outpatient services as part of the initial County hospital replacement construction. II . FINANCIAL IMPACT To be determined III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND The report is in response to the Board of Supervisors , charge to the Advisory Board to give additional input on a proposed "fourth" option that would provide for the construction of a replacement outpatient facility as part of the initial hospital construction project.
