RECOMMENDATIONS
Abolish the Project Area Committee for Area 3, Pleasant Hill BART
Station Redevelopment. Project Area effective July 15, 1991.

BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS .
In adopting an amendment to the ' Pleasant Hill BART Station Area
Redevelopment. Plan on July 19, 1988, the Agency established a Project
Area Committee. The Project Area Committee is required under Section
33386 of the Health and Safety Code, when the Agency expects to
displace a substantial number of low and moderate income families.
This was the case for the amendment area that was the subject of the
July 190, 1988 amendment. The purpose of the Project Area Committee
is to provide advice to the Agency in dealing with provision of
replacement housing for those displaced and on other policy matters
which affect the residents of the* project area. The Project Area
Committee is required to exist for a three-year time period.
The required three-year time period has lapsed. All prior residents
of the. amendment area have been relocated. Most of the membership of
the Project Area Committee were from families who have been relocated.
There is no ongoing need for this committee and it should be
abolished.
