Gilbert, Director of General Services Costa s Count DATE: c�''rd"couH`�cPti June 11, 1991 SUBJECT: LEASE AMENDMENT - 730 LAS JUNTAS STREET, MARTINEZ SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I . RECOMMENDATION APPROVE a Lease Amendment, commencing June 1, 1991, with Jack O. Fries, Earl D. Dunivan and Lippow Development Company for the premises at 730 Las Juntas Street, Martinez, for continued occupancy by the, County Clerk-Recorder, under the terms and conditions more particularly set forth in said Lease Amendment, and AUTHORIZE the Director of General Services to EXECUTE said Lease Amendment on behalf of the County. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT Payments required are to come from the budget of the County Clerk- Recorder. III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND Execution of this Lease Amendment will extend the current lease term of office space at 730 Las Juntas Street, Martinez, for three ( 3) years beginning September 1, 1994, and will provide for renovation of the County Clerk-Recorder offices . RECOMMENDATION: AUTHORIZE relief of cash shortages in the Inmate Cash Fund of the Sheriff-Coroner's Office as recommended by the County Auditor- Controller, and District Attorney. II. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: Cash shortages occurred in the Inmate Cash Fund between March 1, 1989 through February 1990 in the amount of $2, 396 . 73 . The amount consists of $94 . 07 from the Marsh Creek Detention Facility and $2,302 . 66 from the Martinez Detention Facility. The shortages in inmate cash were the result of many reasons, including a tremendous volume of individual transactions and undoubtedly included employee error, computer system malfunctions and release of inmates with negative accounts .
