Approval of Contract #22-380 with Richard A. Kraus, C.P.A.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chair to execute on behalf of the
County, Contract #22-380 with Richard A. Kraus for the period
June 1, 1991 through December 31, 1991, with a payment limit
of $30, 100 for consultation and technical assistance to the
Public Health Division' s Fiscal Officer with regard to fiscal
matters such as grant and contract management, budgeting, and
fund utilization.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This contract which is funded 100% by State Funds is included
in the Department's FY 1990-91 Budget and in the 1991-92
budget projection.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
This Contractor will provide consultation and technical
assistance to the Department's Public Health Fiscal Officer
with regard to operation of the Public Health grant accounting
section.
With the increase in the number of Public Health grants and
the associated dollar value, it has become vital that the
Department have an experienced professional who can provide
guidance in such areas as maximizing revenues from funding
sources and ensuring that grants can withstand audit scrutiny.
