Recommended Action: APPROVE Project, and DETERMINE that the project is a CEQA Class 2C Categorical Exemption, and DIRECT the Chief Engineer to prepare contract plans and specifications for construction. DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk. DIRECT the Chief Engineer to arrange for payment of the $25.00 handling fee to the County Clerk. II. Financial Impact: The estimated project cost is $162,500, funded by Drainage Area 16 Funds (100%). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The project is needed to iTeduce flooding in the Boyd-Brandon area and on the Strandwood School site in Pleasant Hill. The project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan and is exempt from CEQA because it is a replacement of an existing storm drainage system with negligible expansion of capacity. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of design and construction resulting in continued flooding problems.
