In regard to the Marsh Creek Detention Facility, the Progress
Report notes that the County' s waterproofing consultant produced
a report detailing their investigation of the shower area leaks.
County Counsel has provided the contractor a copy of this report
and has scheduled a meeting to discuss correction of the leaks
with the contractor. In investigating the causes of the leaks,
it- was determined that the tile was glued down over gypsum board
arid' plywood, rather than being set in a cement base.
Construction is reported to be 99% complete. The project is
Within budget.
In regard to the Main Detention Facility in Martinez, the
Progress Report notes that construction began on M Module on
January 22, 1991. Currently the project is 83 days behind
schedule. Completion is expected in late April, 1991. The
project is over budget. Construction is currently 86% completed.
Overall, the three projects are estimated .to end up $920,000 over
original estimates.
