TRAFFIC RESOLUTION NO. 3451
ABSTAIN: None Supervisorial District II & IV
SUBJECT: Speed Limits on Pacheco Boulevard (Road No. #3951 C)
The Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors RESOLVES THAT:
On the basis of an engineering and traffic survey and recommendations thereon by the
County Public Works Department's Traffic Engineering Division and pursuant to the County
Ordinance Code Chapter 46-2 (Sec. 46-2.002 ff.), this Board hereby determines that the
present speed limits) established on the below-described road, a street within the criteria
of Vehicle Code Section 22358 Ware) more than reasonable and safe, and hereby
determines and declares that the following speed limit(s) is(are) most appropriate,
reasonable, and safe prima facie speed limit(s) there:
Pursuant to Section 22358 of the California Vehicle Code, no
vehicle shall travel in excess of 35 mph on that portion of
Pacheco Boulevard (Road#3951C), Martinez, beginning at the
Martinez City Limit near Martinez Avenue and extending
easterly to the intersection of Palm Avenue;
THENCE, no vehicle shall travel in excess of 45 mph on that portion of Pacheco Boulevard
beginning at the intersection of Palm Avenue and extending easterly to a point 300 feet
west of the intersection of Morello Avenue;
THENCE, no vehicle shall travel in excess of 35 mph on that portion of Pacheco Boulevard
beginning at a point 300 feet west of the intersection of Morello Avenue and extending
easterly to the Martinez City Limit near the intersection of Sunrise Drive;
THENCE, no vehicle shall travel in excess of 40 mph on that portion of Pacheco Boulevard
beginning at the Martinez city Limit near Arnold Drive and extending southerly.to the
intersection of First Avenue North;
THENCE, no vehicle shall travel in excess of 35 mph on that portion of Pacheco Boulevard
beginning at the intersection of First Avenue North and extending southerly to the Pleasant
Hill City Limit near Second Avenue South.
Traffic Ordinance #72-29 pertaining to the limits of the existing 30 mph and 40 mph speed
zones on Pacheco Boulevard and Traffic Resolution #2841 pertaining to the 35 mph, 40
mph and 40 mph speed limits on Pacheco Boulevard are hereby rescinded.
