HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04231991 - 1.35 s THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF " CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF RESOLUTION NO. 91/244 Proclaiming May 6-12, 1991, as "Clean Air Week"and May 9, 1991, as "Don't Drive Alone Day"in Contra Costa County , the American Lung Associations of the Bay Area have made clean air quality a top health priority; WHEREAS, six million people who reside in the Bay Area operate four million automobiles that contribute to diminished air quality; WHEREAS, the air quality in the Bay Area can be significantly improved by ride- sharing and reducing automobile usage; WHEREAS,the reduction of air pollution can increase health benefits in the Bay Area; appropriate action to protect lung health requires that individuals become aware of the capabilities and vulnerabilities of their lungs; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors does hereby proclaim the week of May 6 through 12, 1991, as"Clean Air Week"and Thursday, May 9, 1991, as "Don't Drive Alone Day"to urge all Bay Area residents to take personal responsiblity for clean air quality.
