HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 04161991 - S.5 S. 5 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUN'T'Y, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on April 16, 1991 by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson and Powers NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Sale of Pacheco Elementary School as surplus property Alberta Boeger, 113 C Street, Pacheco, Pacheco Town Council, appeared and advised that the Pacheco Elementary School will be sold by the Mt. Diablo School District, and that the Pacheco Town Council members and the citizens of Pacheco are asking that this property be purchased for the Town of Pacheco for use as a community center and park. She advised that there is a 60-day window that would allow public entities to purchase this property at twenty-five percent of its appraised value, and that window expires at the end of April, 1991. Ms. Boeger advised that Pacheco has been without a park for over thirty years when Hayden Park was eliminated due to the widening of Grayson Creek and Pacheco Boulevard. She suggested park dedication funds be used to acquire the Pacheco Elementary School property for a community center and park. Chairman Powers advised that the County will be pleased to look at the school situation. Ms. Boeger advised that the end of 60-day Naylor provision is the end of April, and that the Town Council did not know about this matter earlier. Chairman Powers suggested referring the matter to the Community Development Department to review and to look into park dedication fees and to report back next week on the Determination calendar.
