THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUN'T'Y, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on April 16, 1991 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Fanden, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson and Powers
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
SUBJECT: Sale of Pacheco Elementary School as surplus property
Alberta Boeger, 113 C Street, Pacheco, Pacheco Town Council,
appeared and advised that the Pacheco Elementary School will be sold
by the Mt. Diablo School District, and that the Pacheco Town Council
members and the citizens of Pacheco are asking that this property be
purchased for the Town of Pacheco for use as a community center and
park. She advised that there is a 60-day window that would allow
public entities to purchase this property at twenty-five percent of
its appraised value, and that window expires at the end of April,
1991.
Ms. Boeger advised that Pacheco has been without a park for
over thirty years when Hayden Park was eliminated due to the widening
of Grayson Creek and Pacheco Boulevard. She suggested park dedication
funds be used to acquire the Pacheco Elementary School property for a
community center and park.
Chairman Powers advised that the County will be pleased to
look at the school situation.
Ms. Boeger advised that the end of 60-day Naylor provision
is the end of April, and that the Town Council did not know about this
matter earlier.
Chairman Powers suggested referring the matter to the
Community Development Department to review and to look into park
dedication fees and to report back next week on the Determination
calendar.
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED THAT the matter is REFERRED to
the Community Development Department to review, to look into the park
dedication fees for the Pacheco area, and to report back to the Board
on the Determination calendar on April 23 , 1991.
