1991 Earth Day Festival and ) RESOLUTION NO. 91/188
Earthquake Preparedness Expo)
WHEREAS, on April 20, 1991 a joint Earth Day Festival/Earthquake '
Preparedness Expo will be held at Todos Santos Plaza, Concord; and
WHEREAS, the Earth Day Festival is being organized by a volunteer
committee headed by Ms. Sheilah Fish and Mr. Jerry Scott, with
assistance from the Contra Costa Conservation League and Eco-Info;
and
WHEREAS, the Earthquake Preparedness Expo is being organized by a
committee consisting. of representatives from the County Office of
Emergency Services and the Cities of Concord, Pleasant Hill and
Walnut Creek; and`
WHEREAS, the two committees have teamed together to develop a fun-
filled public event the purpose of which is to educate county
residents about how to protect Earth's precious natural resources
and how to protect themselves in the event of a major earthquake;
and
WHEREAS, this event is being made possible through the cooperative
efforts of several public and non-profit agencies and by the
generous financial participation of several business corporations:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT BY' THIS BOARD RESOLVED, that it endorses the
1991 Earth Day Festival/Earthquake Preparedness Expo, extends its
sincere appreciation to all persons and agencies involved and urges
all county citizens to attend the Festival/Expo on April 20th.
