MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: March 19, 1991 SUBJECT: Approving Plans and Specifications for West County Overlay Project, West County Area. Project No.: 0662-6114083-90, CP# 90-20 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE the Plans and Specifications for the Project and ADVERTISE for bids to be received on Thursday, April 18, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to publish the Notice to Contractors in accordance with Section 20392 of the Public Contract Code , and DETERMINE that the Project is a CEQA Class 1 C Categorical Exemption, and DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of Exemption with the County Clerk. II. Financial Impact: The estimated contract cost of the Project is$834,000, funded by Measure C-Half cent Sales Tax (80%) and Senate Bill 300-State Transporatation Partnership (20%). III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Project is needed to maintain roadway structure integrity and ride quality. The Project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan and is exempt from CEQA because there will be no expansion of use and all work will be done within existing right- of-way. The Public Works Director has filed with the Board of Supervisors the Plans and Specifications for the Project. Reasons for Recommendations and Background Cont'd: The general prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this Project, has been filed with the Clerk of the Board and copies will be made available to any interested parry upon request. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: If the Project is not approved for advertising, it will not be constructed.
