AB 1733 CONTRACT
EXTENSIONS (July 1, 1990
THROUGH June 30, 1991) -2- May 15, 1990
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None. 100 percent federal/state funds. Contractors to provide
a 10 percent match.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
On March 5, 1990, the Family and Children' s Trust (FACT)
Committee unanimously voted to extend current AB 1733 contracts
with community agencies from July 1, 1990, to June 30, 1991.
The renewals are to continue the level of service and the
proportionate amount of AB 1733 funds into FY 90-91 as existed
in FY 89-90.
FACT's recommendation ensures the continuation of services
needed by families and children.
The decision to extend the current AB 1733 contracts was made
pending further information from the State regarding evaluation
procedures and the completion of those evaluation procedures by
the agency.
CONSEQUENCES/IMPACT:
Needed services for families and children will be discontinued.
AB 1733 funds will be available but inaccessible to community
agencies .for family and children's services. Failure to
authorize use of the funds could be considered a violation of AB
1733 ' s requirement to maintain needed levels of services.
