Application H.T. 1-90 was submitted by Dr. Maxwell Redfearn
requesting for designation of one Oak Tree (approximately 500
years old) located at 125 Austin Lane in the Alamo area (APN
192-120-038-0) .

According to the County' s Heritage Tree Preservation Ordinance
( #88-83 ) , the designated heritage trees cannot be destroyed or
removed without a permit. The Ordinance also requires that if
any construction or excavation work encroach into the drip line
or a radius of 12 feet from the trunk (whichever is greater) of
designated heritage. trees, special preservation measures must be
adopted under the supervision of the Building Inspection
Department.
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors� •accept the San
Ramon Valley Regional Planning Commission approval of the three
applications for heritage trees (H.T. 3-89; H.T. 4-89 and H.T.
1-90) and designate the above listed trees as heritage trees.
It is further recommended that the Community Development
Department be directed to officially register the designated
heritage trees and the "Building Inspection Department _ be
directed to adopt the. necessary measures to preserve the
designated heritage trees in accordance with Ordinance #88-83 .
