Costa DATE: "May 22, 1990 SUBJECT: Authorizing Execution of JTPA Contracts for PY 1990-91 with Various Service Providers SPECIFIC REGUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) A BACKSPOUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private Industry Council, to execute on behalf of the County, standard form Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Contracts with various service providers (Contractors) as specified in the attached "JTPA Specifications Chart" for the twelve.month period beginning July 1, 1990 and ending June 30, 1991, subject to approval of County Counsel as to legal form. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. 100 percent federal funds. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: By its Order dated April 10, 1990, the Board approved submission of the Job Training Plan for Program Year 1990-92 (.County #19-8028-0) which included program plans for Title II-A 78% and 3% programs under the Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) . By its action on May 21, 1990, the County's Private Industry Council (PIC) selected/designated the Contractors named in the attached Specifications Chart to provide JTPA training services for Program Year 1990-91. These Contracts will provide Job Search Training, Classroom Training, On-the-Job Training and other employment services for approximately 476 JTPA-eligible Contra Costa County residents.
