The report is to include, but not be limited to, an evaluation of all of the following: * The size and cost of a building which would be needed to house all of the City of Berkeley-based public health programs of the department, assuming a reasonable degree of public health program expansion in future years. * The renovation of the current laboratory facility at 2151 Berkeley Way and consolidation of other public health programs located in the Bay Area either at 2151 Berkeley Way or at another East Bay area location. * An exchange of real property which is owned by the Regents of the University of California, adjacent to 2151 Berkeley Way, for the State of California owned property located on the southwest corner of University Avenue and Acton Street, Berkeley. In view of the concerns which have been expressed by Dr. Wendel Brunner, in particular, regarding the impact of a move to Sacramento on the Tumor Registry staff, it is appropriate for the Board of Supervisors to express their continued support for AB 3708.
