Bragdon ``°s>A�---x" W oun Director of Community Development DATE: June 26, 1990 SUBJECT: Proposed Fee Increase, Addition of New Fees and Ordinance Amendments for the Community Development Department SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Accept request/report from the Community Development Department. and set a hearing date of July 31, 1990 to receive any public comments on * the proposed Community Development Fee Schedule Amendments (attached) . FISCAL IMPACT 1. A fee increase is requested to lessen dependence on funds from the County General Fund. 2 . New fees are necessary to support hazardous waste review tasks required by Ordinance 86-100. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Current Planning and Advanced Planning activities are supported by Application fees. In addition, County funds have also been used to support the costs associated with these activities. In an effort to minimize the County funds used, it is proposed that a fee increase be adopted. 2 . Hazardous waste project review tasks necessary under the proposed revision to County Ordinance 86-100 (Hazardous Waste/Materials Projects) require funding. The new fees will support staff costs to perform the Ordinance's required tasks.
