SUBJECT: CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH GEOSPECTRA ENGINEERS AND
GEOSCIENTISTS FOR APPIAN WAY TRIANGLE WIDENING PROJECT

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE consulting services agreement with Geospectra Engineers and Geoscientists for
geotechnical services for the Appian Way Triangle Widening project and AUTHORIZE the Public
Works Director to execute the agreement.
II. Financiallmpact:
The maximum contract cost which is not to be exceeded without written approval by the Public
Works Director is $11,970.00. It is to be funded by the EI Sobrante Area of Benefit (100%).
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Back rq ound:
The services of a consultant are needed to determine the stability of proposed cut slopes.
Qualifications of four consultants were requested and Geospectra was selected and they
submitted an acceptable proposal.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
If geotechnical services are not secured, a sound engineering design cannot be provided.
