SUBJECT: APPROVING DRAINAGE AREA 30A LINE A PROJECT
Project No.: 7557-6D8448-88, Oakley, Area.
CP# 89-12
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE Project and FIND, on the basis of the initial study and all comments received, that
there is no substantial evidence that the project will have a significant effect on the environment,
ADOPT the Negative Declaration, and
DIRECT the Chief Engineer to begin right-of-way acquisition and to prepare contract plans and
specifications for construction.
DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of Determination with the
County Clerk.
II. Financial Impact:
The estimated project cost if $510,300.00, funded by Drainage Area 30A funds (100%).
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The project is needed to improve flood protection to the area draining into the Drainage Area
30A detention basin.

III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background Cont'd:
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan. A negative
Declaration of environmental significance pertaining to this project was published April 21, 1989
with no protest, and the Board has considered the negative declaration together with all
comments received during the public review period.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
Delay in approving the project will result in a delay of design and construction and may
jeopardize funding.
