Financial Impact None Background The Health Committee of the Advisory Council on Aging undertook a project to ensure that staff and volunteers who work at congregate meal sites and who deliver home delivered meals to the elderly are able to provide CPR if the need arose. Office on Aging staff contacted the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Emergency Medical Services, local fire departments, hospitals and individuals to contribute staff time and resources. Maureen Fosty, a registered nurse at Doctors ' Hospital in Pinole, volunteered her time and resources, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company volunteered the time and resources of their regular CPR trainer Pat Byrne. A total of 80 Senior Nutrition Program staff and volunteers received the CPR training provided by Ms. Fosty and Mr. Byrne. The County Advisory Council on Aging recommends that the Board of Supervisors send the attached thank you letters to PG Ms. Fosty as acknowledgment of their special effort in r gards to the CPR training for the Senior Nutrit on P o ra .
