Request the Health Services Director to forward all nominations for the Drug and Alcohol Coordinating Committee to our Committee' s attention so we can review them at our meeting on April 9 , 1990 and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors thereafter. 2. Request the Health Services Director to schedule the media meetings on May 16, 1990 from 5: 00 P.M. to 7 : 00 P.M. at the Bank of America Building in Concord and on May 17 , 1990 from 5:00 P.M. to 7 : 00 P.M. at the Bank of America Building in San Francisco if these dates meet with the approval of the rest of the Board members. The attached list of media representatives should be invited to both meetings so each individual can attend whichever meeting is more convenient to the individual' s schedule. The format of these meetings should include a welcome from the Chair of the Board of Supervisors, a staff presentation from the Health Services Department on the Action Plan and how it came into being followed by a discussion with the media representatives on those elements of the Action Plan which are particularly targeted to the media in an effort to obtain their commitment to undertake specific actions to implement these elements. We also discussed the scheduling of the two media meetings which the Board of Supervisors asked the Health Services Director to schedule. We are proposing May 16 and 17 for these two meetings if this schedule is acceptable to the rest of the Board members. We would also like to have all nominations for the Drug and Alcohol Action Committee by April 9 , 1990 so we can review them and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for appointments to the Coordinating Committee.
