SUBJECT: Shore Acres Rehabilitation Program

RECOMMENDATIONS
Authorize Redevelopment Agency staff to develop a public, infor-
mation program for a private housing rehabilitation program in the
Shore Acres neighborhood within the West Pittsburg Redevelopment
Project Area.
FISCAL IMPACT
None. Financing of the rehabilitation work would come from the FHA
203 (k) loan program.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
New Century Construction, a private developer/contractor has
proposed a residential rehabilitation program specifically tailored
for the "flat top" houses prevalent in the Shore Acres area of West
Pittsburg. The Redevelopment Agency was asked to assist by
providing publicity for the program. The program will improve the
physical appearance of the Shore Acres neighborhood and improve the
property tax base within the Project Area. nn
