OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Honoring the )
CONTRA COSTA COUN'T'Y AIDS TASK FORCE ) RESOLUTION NO. 90/ 227
On the Occasion of Its 5th Anniversary)
The Contra Costa County AIDS Task Force came into existence five
years ago to provide a source of emotional and practical support
for people with HIV infection (i.e. AIDS/ARC) and their families.
The AIDS Task Force is a community based organization with over
300 volunteers. They have worked hard to establish programs for
emergency financial assistance, free legal help, referral
services, along with extensive group and one-on-one counseling
sessions.
AIDS prevention education in schools, the work place, and social
groups is part of the efforts by the Task Force to raise
community awareness about HIV infections. They believe this to
be the best way to prevent the further spread of AIDS. The
efforts of the AIDS Task Force are extremely commendable, as this
cruel disease robs more and more victims of their lives each
year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
honors the CONTRA COSTA AIDS TASK FORCE on the occasion of its
5th Anniversary.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON April 17, 1990, by a unanimous vote of the
Board members present.
