SUBJECT: AWARD OF EXCELLENCE PROGRAM
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECONRYIENDATION
Authorize the County Administrator to initiate the 1990 Award of
Excellence Program and designate November 8, 1990 for the Award
of Excellence Banquet.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Private donations will be solicited. Additional monies are being
included in the proposed 1990-91 County Budget.
BACKGROUND:
Since the Board of Supervisors established the program in 1988 ,
600 County employees have been recognized. The program, designed
to take place annually, is in its third year with nominations
scheduled to begin in June. Department coordinators will
distribute nomination forms and posters in all work sites.
Nominations will be accepted from employees in one or more of the
following six award categories:
Employee of the Year
Most Creative Employee
Outstanding Public Service Employee
Most Dedicated Employee
Most Productive Employee
Most Enthusiastic Employee

. last year, plaques and dinners-for-two.
In an era of ever-diminishing resources, our County employees
