Departmental Personnel Officer Specialist positions
for AB 3632
This is a request to add one 40/40 and one 32/40 Mental Health Treatment
Specialist B-level positions for the AB 3632 Program.
The demand for treatment services in the Central and East County areas has
exceeded the supply. The provisions of these services are mandated through
California Government Code Section 7570 et seq. and Public Law 94-142. Failure
to supply these services can result in substantial penalty to the county. The
need in the East and Central County area has grown to the point that an on-going
demand for service has been sufficiently established to justify the creation of
a permanent 40/40 position to meet these needs.
The second request is for a Case Manager position mandated for the placement and
monitoring of children requiring residential treatment. The growing caseload
warrants the hiring of this 32/40 case management staff.
While the monthly cost of these positions will be an additional $4,472.00, suf-
ficient funding exists within the current 3632 catagorical base allocation to
fund these positions.
We request that the Board approve this action at its earliest convenience. If
