On February 6, 1990 the Employee Relations Officer submitted a Side Letter dated January 30, 1990 (Attachment A) entered into with California Nurses' Association, outlining negotiated wage agreements and other economic terms and conditions of employment beginning January 1 , 1990 through December 31 , 1991 , for approval by the Board of Supervisors. This agreement is entered into by County representatives and the California Nurses' Association representatives to provide salary adjustments while a comprehensive memorandum of understanding is being prepared. That document will be finalized. by the parties as soon as possible and then will be sub- mitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval . i 2. This Board having thoroughly considered said Side Letter agreement, same is approved. 3. If an Ordinance(s) is required to implement any of the foregoing provisions, the Board of Supervisors shall enact said Ordinance(s). THIS RESOLUTION is effective as of January 1 , 1990. This agreement is entered into by County representatives and California Nurses' Association representatives to provide salary adjustments while a comprehensive memorandum of understanding is being prepared. As soon as possible, this document will be finalized by both parties and submitted to the Board of Supervisors for approval. Wage and other Wage-Line adjustments are listed below for the Bargaining unit which includes the following classes: Registered Nurse; Registered Nurse-Project; Clinical Nurse Specialist-Obstetrics/Gynecology; Clinical Nurse Specialist-Psychiatric; Clinical Nurse Spe,ialist-Psychiatric project; and Family Nurse Practitioner. CHARGE NURSE GLASS The Health Services Department will submit a proposal for the new classification of Charge Nurse to the County's Personnel Department. The proposed class will be five percent (5%) above the top step of Registered Nurse-Advanced Level. PROFESSIONAL -SASSATICAL LEAVE Employees who have completed five (5) years or more of employment shall annually receive three (3) days of paid sabbatical leave. This leave shall be granted under the same provisions as vacation leave. E. WEEKEND DIFFERENTIAL Effective January 1, 1990, Registered Nurses shall receive an increased weekend shift bonus of twenty-two dollars 022.00) per shift for each weekend shift worked which: 1) falls .on wiekends for which the nurse is not scheduled to work in their normal work schedule; 2) falls between the beginning of the night shift on Friday and the end of the evening shift on Sunday; 3) is worked far zhe full duration of the shift; and 4) is not the result of a trade. Registered Nurses are to note such qualifying shifts on their time sheets to receive this compensation. F. SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL Employees whose regular shift is extended Such that it ends twelve (12) consecutive hours or more after its beginning shall receive shift differential , paid at the differential rate appropriate for those additional hours in excess of eight. G. HOLIDAY PAY FOR PART-TIME AND PERMANENT-INTERMITTENT EMPLOYiES Permanent part-time and permanent-intermittent employees in the Hospital Nursing Service who work -on a holiday shall receive overtime pay or compensatory time credit for all hours worked, up to .a maximum of eight (a). Permanent part-time employees who do not work on a holiday shall receive holiday credit in the same ratio too the holiday credit given full-time employees as the number of hours in the regular full-time schedule, regardless of whether the holiday falls on the part-time employee's regular work day. FAMI.L`1 NORSE PRACTITIONER WEEKEND SCHEDULE I Family Nurse Practitioners who have completed twenty (20) years or more - of employment shall receive every weekend off. i - FEB 01 190 13:19 CCC Fr'RSONNEL DEPT P.114 R -3- J. -NEALT14-PLAN COVERAGE Effective February 1, 1990, the County will contribute up to tart dollars ($10.00) per month for a single subscriber and up to twenty-three dollars ($23.00) per month of increased premium for a subscriber with dependents for the Kaiser and H.E.A.L.S. Health Plans.- The H.E.A.L.S. Health plan will be terminated February 28, 1990. Effective October 1, 1990, the County will contribute up to ten dollars ($10.00) per month for a single subscriber and up to twenty-six ($26.00) per month of increased premium for a subscriber with dependents for the Kaiser and 1st Choice Health Plans. K. MILEAGE ALLOWANCE Effective February 1, 1990, mileage allowance for the use of personal vehicles on County business shall be paid according to the following per month formula: 1-400 miles $.24 per mile 401-plus miles $.18 per mile If the foregoing conforms to your understanding, please Indicate your approval in the space provided below.
