HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07181989 - 1.26 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Welcoming ) Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and ) RESOLUTION NO.480 Leaders from Sakai, Japan ) July 29, 1989 ) WHEREAS, 1989 marks the 8th bienniem Scout exchange to promote friendship and understanding between the youth of Japan and the United States of America; and WHEREAS, exchange programs like this one are important to improving the breadth of cultural understanding of the residents of Contra Costa County; and WHEREAS, nineteen Boy Scouts, seventeen Girl Scouts and nine adult leaders from Sakai, Japan, will be hosted by the Mt. Diablo Council of the Boy Scouts of America and the Berkeley Albany Association of the Girl Scouts of America from July 28 to August 8 , 1989; and WHEREAS, these ambassadors of goodwill should be recognized for their commitment to the ideals of Boy and Girl Scouts the world over; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County WELCOMES the visiting Scouts and their leaders and wishes them well on their camping experience; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County COMMENDS the hosting Scout groups for their support of this exchange program. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board on July 18, 1989. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of an order entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
