MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: July 11, 1989 SUBJECT: Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement with West Contra Costa Sanitary District in conjunction with the Appian Way Widening Phase II project. Project No. 0664- 6R4288-84 . Specific Request (s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Chairman to execute a Joint Exercise of Powers Agreement between the County and the West Contra Costa Sanitary District for the adjustment of sanitary manholes within the Appian Way Widening Phase II project. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT: West Contra Costa Sanitary District will pay all costs associated with the sanitary manhole adjustments. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The Agreement provides for the adjustment of the manholes as a part of the Appian Way Phase II Construction project. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: If the Agreement is not approved the District will have to adjust the manholes during or after the widening project. This could cause expensive delays to our Contractor and the local traffic and residents. 0 c
