MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: July 11, 1989 SUBJECT: Approve Agreement with West Contra Costa Sanitary District and Authorize Issuance of a warrant for payment of sewer relocation costs for the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks Project, Flood Control Zone No. 7 (7527-6D8618) Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDATION APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE the Chairperson of the Board of Supervisors to execute the agreement with the West Contra Costa Sanitary District for the relocation of sewer facilities and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-Controller to issue a warrant to the West Contra Costa Sanitary District in the amount of $29 , 222 . 83 . II. FINANCIAL IMPACT By the terms of the agreement, the Flood Control District is required to reimburse the West Contra Costa Sanitary District for its costs related to the design and inspection of the relocation work. The Sanitary District has submitted an invoice for these costs in the amount of $29, 222 . 83 . The warrant in payment of the invoice shall be funded by Work Order 7527-6D8618 Flood Control Zone 7 . The costs are reimbursable from the California Department of Water Resources at the rate of 70 . 0 percent. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND By Order of the Board of Supervisors, dated June 17 , 1986, the Flood Control District approved an agreement with the Corps of Engineers the terms of which require the relocation of utility facilities for construction of the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks project. The required relocations include the facilities owned by The West Contra Costa Sanitary District described in the agreement. ' IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION Failure to pay the invoice will jeopardize the Flood Control District ' s cooperative relationship with the Sanitary District
