HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06271989 - 1.115 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA IN THE MATTER OF ) Celebrating the 65th ) Anniversary of ) Walnut Creek Lions Club) RESOLUTION NO. 89/414 WHEREAS, the Walnut Creek Lions Club has dedicated their monies and time aiding and enhancing the lives of those in Contra Costa County for over 65 years; and WHEREAS, with a membership of 85 members, who have donated to numerous benefactors among which are: John Muir Hospital, The City of Hope, The Summer Watermelon Feed and The March of Dimes; and WHEREAS, the Walnut Creek Lions Club creation of the Heather Farms Sensory Garden enables the blind and handicapped to enjoy the delightful experience of flowers and herbs in a natural environment; and WHEREAS, through the devout efforts of the Lions Club, a full-time blind center in Pittsburg and an extension in Lafayette are available for those people who are visually impaired; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of Contra Costa County CONGRATULATES the Walnut Creek Lions Club on their 65th Anniversary Celebration and COMMENDS the members for their exemplary work in Contra Costa County. PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board members present on this 27th day of June. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of said Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
