SUBJECT: Authorize Execution of Human Services Challenge Grant
Contract With SHELTER, Inc.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) BACK ROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION
Authorize the County Administrator to execute, on behalf of the
County, standard short-form service contracts with the following,
to provide human services, as specified below:

S.H.E.L.T.E.R. , Central County July 1, 1989
Inc. Family Shelter June 30, 1990 $ 29,900
Director/Developer
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT
General Fund: $29,900 with matching monetary contributions of
$200,000 as identified by the contractor.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND
The Board of Supervisors at its meeting of April 27, 1989,
approved the recommendations of the Human Services Advisory
Commission regarding the allocation of Human Services Challenge
Grant funds. Included in the recommendations was the allocation
of $185,000 in Challenge Grant funds to fund fifteen proposals
These agencies identified $595,215 in non-governmental matching
funds to support the proposed allocation of County funds.
The recommended action of this order will authorize execution of the
contract having payment in excess of $25,000.
