Newell Avenue Sidewalk Replacement
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
Two construction bids for this project were received and opened
at 255 Glacier Drive, Martinez, on Tuesday, June 6 , 1989 as
follows:
The bid results were as follows:
Contractor Amount
1. B&B Grading & Paving $14 , 600
2 . Clouse Excavating $19, 337
Other Contractors solicited for bids were unresponsive. The
Engineer' s estimate for the project was $9 , 935. 00 .

in an unprotected dirt path along a busy street, leaving the
crosswalks inaccessible to wheelchairs.
