THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA
Adopted this Order on May 2, 1989 , by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Powers, Fanden, Schroder, Torlakson
NOES: None
ABSENT: Supervisor McPeak
ABSTAIN: None

SUBJECT: Agricultural Task Force Concerns
The Board received a letter dated April 24, 1989 from
Leslie K. Davis, Chair, Agricultural Task Force, 625 West Fourth
Street, Suite 3 , Antioch 94509, transmitting a statement from the
Task Force requesting authority from the Board of Supervisors to
develop a consensus on East County land use policies prior to
development of implementation measures.
The Board also received a letter dated April 21, 1989
from Christopher P. Valle-Riestra, 257 Vernon Street, 4321, Oakland
94610, expressing concern that the Agricultural Task Force is not
developing an agricultural lands policy as was its charge.
The Board further received a letter dated April 29, 1989
from Mark Evanoff, Field Representative, Greenbelt Alliance/People
for Open Space, 116 New Montgomery, Suite 640, San Francisco 94105 ,
commenting on the need to develop a strong program to enhance and
protect agricultural and natural resources.
IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the aforementioned
letters are REFERRED to the Community Development Director.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Community Development
Director and County Administrator are REQUESTED to schedule a
workshop with the Agricultural Task Force as soon as possible to
further define the scope of the Task Force' s charge.
