MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: April 25, 1989 SUBJECT: APPROVAL of Contract Change Order No. 7 for the Hidden Pond Road, Assessment District 1986-1, in the Pleasant Hill area. Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPROVE Contract Change Order No. 7 and, AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute Contract Change Order No. 7 in the approximate amount of $2 , 850. 00 to compensate the contractor, North Bay Construction, Inc. , for miscellaneous changes in the planned work. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The project contingency funds are sufficient to cover the change order costs. The source of funds is Assessment District 1986-1. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION,/BACKGROUND: Modifications were required in the underground utilities. This contract change order provides for these .changes. Because this change order and previously approved change orders collectively exceed $25, 000. 00 Board approval is required. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The lack of approval would preclude payment for work required to complete installation of underground utilities.
