Kronick, M.D. to construct a two-story, 10,000 square-foot medical office building, in the Walnut Creek area. The Board on April 11, 1989 closed its hearing on the appeal of the La Casa Via Neighborhood Association from the decision of the Contra Costa County Planning Commission (as the Board of Appeals) to approve, with revised conditions, the application by Elwood L. Kronick, M.D. to construct a 2-story, 10,000 square-foot medical office building in the Walnut Creek area (LUP 2170-86) . Supervisor Schroder commented that decision on the matter had been deferred from April 11 to allow Supervisor McPeak and himself to meet with the City of Walnut Creek. He advised that they had met with Walnut Creek, their staff and County staff to discuss the above application. Supervisor Schroder referenced the report submitted by Jerry Loving with respect to the conclusions on the various sites proposed for use by Dr. Kronick. Supervisor McPeak commented on the various regulations of the County and how they compared with those of the City of Walnut Creek. Supervisor McPeak suggested that perhaps the County could invite an amended application which would include provision for the remainder of the property to be subdivided into single family lots at this time. Mary Fleming, Community Development Department, advised that there is a condition in the revised conditions of approval that requires the dedication of development rights and it was the intent of that condition to assure that the site could not be used for anything but single family residential. Board members discussed the matter in some detail. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that decision is DEFERRED to the May 2, 1989 determination calendar, and staff is REQUESTED to further explore options for an alternative site and to provide more information on proposed modifications to the project. I hereby certify that this Is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisorso the data shown.
