REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The Board of Supervisors on June 11, 1985 executed an agreement with Southern Pacific Pipe Lines, Inc. (SPPL) for relocation of pipeline facilities required for construction of the San Ramon Bypass Channel. The San Ramon Bypass Channel-III Project requires the relocation of approximately 610 feet of 10-inch petroleum pipeline crossing Walnut Creek near Civic Park and approximately 580 feet crossing San Ramon Creek near Bishop Lane in the City of Walnut Creek. IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION These relocations have been determined to be necessary by the U. S . Army Corps of Engineers. Failure to relocate the facilities will result in construction delays and more costly pipeline protection work.
