SUBJECT: APPROVAL of Contract Change Order No. 4 for
the Pleasant Hill Road Slide Repair, Project No.
0671-6R6775-86 in the Walnut Creek area.
Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background &
Justification
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE Contract Change Order No. 4, and
AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to execute Contract Change
Order No. 4 in the approximate amount of $950. 00 to compensate the
contractor, L & S General Contractors, for miscellaneous changes
in the planned work.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The Project Contingency Funds are sufficient to cover the change ,
order costs. Total project costs are 100% reimburseable under the
Federal Highway Administration Emergency Repair Program.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
Modifications were required in the guardrail. This contract
change order provides for those changes.
Because this change order and previously approved change orders
collectively exceed $25, 000. 00 Board approval is required.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The lack of approval would preclude payment for work required to
complete the repair of the slide.
