I recall you pledging years ago that that section of highway would be landscaped. I also am aware of the strict budget constraints facing CALTRANS and all public agencies. Because Highway 4 is designated as a scenic highway, and the fact that much open area was left for that purpose that is now covered in weeds and other debris, and -.further that the region again may be facing a water shortage or draught; I s est and encourage that the area be planted in a draught tot erant, low maintenance manner. I especially would like to see Pepper Trees, common to the historic Martinez area, along with arid plantings of a low maintenance variety. The residents of Martinez and users of Highway 4 have waited too long to have this roadway completed. I look forward to seeing this accomplished within the coming year. Sincerely, Nancy Fah n enc.
