Health Services P.C. Coordinator
Task and Responsibilities
PLANNING
o Establish "norms" and standards for Health Services Department P.C.
hardware and software acquisition.
o Review all P.C . hardware and software orders to maintain department
consistency and compatibility.
o Participate in studies, decisions , and recommendations with Health
Services Department Data Procssing Manager and staff regarding the
selection of micro, mini , or mainframe solutions to information pro-
cessing problems .
TRAINING
o Review office procedures and make suggestions for computerization, and,
where approved, assist in the implementation of the automation of the
functions .
o Recommend and train P.C. users in appropriate system use and main-
tenance including file naming conventions , disk space optimization,
file sturctures, software use, etc.
INSTALLATION
o Maintain inventories of Health Services Department P.C.
hardware/software and the purpose and functions being performed on
the unit.
o Develop, when appropriate, application software using commercially
available database and spreadsheet software (R-Base, D-Base, Basic,
etc. ) .
o Assist with the acquisition and installation of data communications
equipment, including data lines,' cabling, modems , controllers, pin
configurations, etc.
o Other duties as assigned.
