RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE Contingency increase of $50, 000, and
AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to execute Contract Change Order No.
2 to Mori Hatsushi and Associates, Inc. of Concord, in the
amount of $47, 038, to provide for changes in the planned work for
Pleasant Hill BART Landscaping. Project No. 7891-6X5559-85.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funds are available from the tax increment and development fees
for the Pleasant Hill BART Specific Plan area.

REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Agency is installing landscaping within the medians of
Pleasant Hill BART Specific Plan area. This contract change
order provides for extension of the median landscaping in Treat
Boulevard between Jones Road and Cherry Lane. This Change order
provides for compensation to the contractor for which are
required to complete the project.
Because this change order exceeds $25, 000, Agency approval is
required.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Failure to approve the change order will delay construction of
the improvments as well as impact public access to the Pleasant
Hill BART Station.

I. CHANGE IN PLANS - EXTRA WORK AT AGREED PRICE:
Install irrigation and landscaping on Treat Boulevard between Jones Road an Cherry
Lane, per David Gates plan.
Agreed Price $47,038.00
The contractor agrees to accept $47,038.00 as full compensation for all the work
described above, and no additional compensation will be allowed therefor.
