SUBJECT: Travel to IBM Computer-Aided Dispatch and Records
Management System Demonstration
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) a BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
Authorize travel to Austin, Texas for an IBM Computer-Aided
Dispatch and Records Management System Demonstration on
.June 8, 1988 at no County cost.
BACKGROUND
On June 8, 1988, IBM is conducting a demonstration of a
Computer-Aided Dispatch and Records Management System at a
customer' s location in Austin, Texas. IBM believes that it would
be beneficial to have representatives from the Fire Departments
and the DRCC attend this demonstration.
IBM will pay reasonable travel, meal and lodging expenses for
three ( 3 ) representatives from the County to attend the
demonstration. The County is free to select attendees on behalf
of the Fire and DRCC organizations. Based on the subject matter
which will be covered, IBM believes that the County would receive
.the most benefit if it is represented by the Fire Districts and
the DRCC. The final decision on who attends, however, is at the
County' s discretion.
The donation is conditioned upon our formalizing the making and
intended use of the donation in a resolution prior to the date of
this seminar. In the absence of. such formalization, the
attendees will be expected to reimburse IBM for the value of any
travel, lodging and meals' provided by IBM.
