SUBJECT: Approve.Agreements with Pacific Gas and Electric for Relocation of
Electric Facilities for the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks Project,

I. CSI ACTION
APPROVE the agreements with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, AUTHORIZE
the Public Works Director to execute agreements for the relocation of
electric facilities and for the deferral of the contribution in aid of
construction, and DIRECT the County Auditor-Controller to issue a purchase
order to Pacific Gas and Electric Company for the electric facility reloca-
tions in an amount not to exceed $38,946.69 and to prepare a warrant to
Pacific Gas and Electric in the amount of $30,427.10 as partial payment of
the purchase order.
II. FIlNANCTAL IMPACT
By the terms of the agreement, the Flood Control District is required to pay
the estimated relocation costs of $30,427.10 prior to the c:omTiencement of
the work. The costs are reimbursable from the California Department of
Water Resources at the rate of 75.38 percent.
III. REASONS FM CJ�T/BAC[�)ND
By Order of the Board of Supervisors, dated June 17, 1986, the Flood Control
District approved an agreement with the Corps of Engineers the terms of
which- require the relocation of utility facilities for construction of the
Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks project. The required relocations include the
facilities awned by Pacific Gas and Electric described in the agreement.
Upon completion of the work, the Pacific Gas and Electric will provide an
accounting of the actual costs of the relocation. Subject to a determina-
tion by the California Public Utilities Commission the District may be
responsible for paying a contribution in aid of construction. Pending that
determination the contribution can be deferred until September 10, 1989.
The purchase order will encumber funds to pay the contribution/as necessary.
