HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06141988 - T.A IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Proclaiming the Week ) of July 4 through July 10, 1988 as ) Resolution No. 88/337 "U.S. OLYMPIC BOXING TRIALS WEEK" ) WHEREAS, from July 5, through July 10, 1988, the City of Concord will be the Contra Costa County site of, and the California International Sports Festival will host, the United States Olympic Boxing Trials featuring 96 of the United States' best amateur boxers; and WHEREAS, the top eight boxers in each of 12 weight classes will compete for selection as American representatives to the Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, Korea in September 1988; and WHEREAS, this, the only Northern California Olympic Trials will be held in Contra Costa County; and 4 WHEREAS, the nationally televised finals will be held July 9 and 10, 1988 at the Concord Pavilion, the site of numerous international amateur boxing matches since 1978. NOW THEREFORE BE IT BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF ; CONTRA COSTA, CALIFORNIA RESOLVED that we do hereby PROCLAIM the Week of July 4 through July 10, 1988 as "U.S. OLYMPIC BOXING TRIALS WEEK." 6 PASSED and ADOPTED by the unanimous vote of the Board on the 14th day of June 1988. I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct copy of a Resolution entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
