HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06141988 - 1.21 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Declaring June 15, ) 1988, as Gwen Regalia Day ) RESOLUTION NO. 88/ 336 As an educator and a concerned citizen, Gwen Regalia was drawn _to civic activities early in her career of public service. Her contributions to education in the City of Walnut Creek, her service in PTA in two district schools, and her involvement in the Parents Club at Las Lomas High School expanded her knowledge of the problems of the parent - educator community in our county. As a sensitive and perceptive individual, Mrs. Regalia has demonstrated her effectiveness by her service both to the Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging and as a board member of the Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund. As an elected public official, Mrs. Regalia continued her service, first as a member of the Governing Board of the Walnut Creek School District where she served for nine years ( two years of which she was Board President) , and now as a Walnut Creek Councilwoman, where she exemplifies the qualities of good citizenship and dedication to her community and her county. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that Councilwoman Gwen Regalia be honored and recognized by her fellow citizens for her leadership in education and community service and that Wednesday, June 15, 1988, be declared "Gwen Regalia Day" in Contra Costa County.
