OF
CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Declaring June 15, )
1988, as Gwen Regalia Day ) RESOLUTION NO. 88/ 336
As an educator and a concerned citizen, Gwen Regalia was drawn
_to civic activities early in her career of public service. Her
contributions to education in the City of Walnut Creek, her
service in PTA in two district schools, and her involvement in
the Parents Club at Las Lomas High School expanded her knowledge
of the problems of the parent - educator community in our county.

demonstrated her effectiveness by her service both to the Diablo
Valley Foundation for the Aging and as a board member of the
Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund.
As an elected public official, Mrs. Regalia continued her
service, first as a member of the Governing Board of the Walnut
Creek School District where she served for nine years ( two years
of which she was Board President) , and now as a Walnut Creek
Councilwoman, where she exemplifies the qualities of good
citizenship and dedication to her community and her county.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that
Councilwoman Gwen Regalia be honored and recognized by her
fellow citizens for her leadership in education and community
service and that Wednesday, June 15, 1988, be declared "Gwen
Regalia Day" in Contra Costa County.
